Self-Training Session Guidelines

Self-training sessions are a valuable opportunity to condition, refine skills, and build strength. To ensure the safety of all participants and maintain the training space, the following guidelines must be followed at all times:

1. No Phone Use During Training
To remain fully focused and minimise distractions, phones must not be used during the session, except in case of emergencies. You are welcome to make notes during class in your folder and look at the notes.

2. Practice Only What You’ve Already Learned
Self-training is for practicing and conditioning skills you have already been taught in class. Do not attempt any new moves, sequences, or tricks that you have not previously learned under the supervision of an instructor. This rule is essential for safety and injury prevention.

3. Rigging Communication
Any rigging changes must be communicated to Sammy in advance. This includes adjustments to lines, heights, sandbags, or any other rigging-related elements. Unauthorized rigging changes can compromise the safety of the space.

4. Room Check Before Leaving
Before leaving the training space, you are required to check that everything is left in its proper condition. This includes:

  • Ensuring that sandbags are placed up high as requested.
  • Leaving all lines, equipment, and mats exactly as instructed.

To confirm that the space is left correctly, send a photo to Sammy showing the condition of the room before you exit. This helps maintain consistency and ensures the safety of those using the space after you.

5. Respect Safety Protocols
The safety of everyone in the space is the top priority. By following these self-training guidelines, you contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for yourself and others.
